Steve VernonName: Steve Vernon

Do you write with a pen name? If so, what is it?

Given that I write in so many varied genres I probably should have adopted a pen name – but I’ve always used my own name.

In which country were you born, and which one do you live in now?

I was born in Ontario.

Which genres do you write in?

I have written several ghost story collections, one true crime collection, one middle grade novel, one YA novel, one children’s picture book and an awful lot of horror fiction.

Wow. I have written seven regional books – all released through local Nova Scotia press Nimbus Publishing. They include my latest release Maritime Murder: True Tales of East Coast Homicide (due out this month), as well as Haunted Harbours: Ghost Stories From Old Nova Scotia, Wicked Woods: Ghost Stories From Old New Brunswick, Maritime Monsters (a children’s picture book), Halifax Haunts, Sinking Deeper and The Lunenburg Werewolf.

I have also written numerous novels, novellas and short story collections – so many and in so many varied formats – that truthfully, I have lost count.

In addition to the seven regional books I have three horror novels – Devil Tree, Tatterdemon and Gypsy Blood – available in either traditional or e-book format, depending on the book. I have several novellas available – Long Horn Big Shaggy, Plague Monkey Spam, Sudden Death Overtime, Leftovers and many others – again, available in either traditional or e-book format.

How many?

Like I say – I’ve lost count.

Author Interview: Yvonne Hertzberger

Yvonne HertzbergerName: Yvonne Hertzberger

Do you write with a pen name? If so, what is it?

No, I use my real name. If I were writing in more than one genre I might consider it to avoid confusion for my readers, but even then I think I would stick with my real name.

In which country were you born, and which one do you live now?

I was born in the Netherlands but came to Canada as a toddler and became a Canadian at the age of six – even signed my own card. I remember it well. J

Which genres do you write in?

I categorise my work as Epic Fantasy (epic because it is a trilogy) but many readers of Historical Fiction think it would fit there as well. I can’t do that, though, as my ‘world’ is not a real place. Some even think it ought to be Romance but that actually is a minor theme.

How many books have you had published? (feel free to name them all)

Two, so far, with the third in the works to finish the first trilogy. The series is called “Earth’s Pendulum”, book one is “Back From Chaos” and book two is “Through Kestrel’s Eyes”. The third will be titled “The Dreamt Child”.
